Sleater-Kinney - Call The Doctor
Originally released in 1996 on Chainsaw Records, Sleater-Kinney's second album, Call The Doctor is a thunderously fully-formed and breathless pop-twist of a punk record, widely considered one of the band's best. It's dual-vocals and interwoven guitars inspired a generation of post-riot grrrl bands, and the impassioned rawness shimmers with a pop brilliance only hinted at on their debut.
Formed in Olympia, WA in 1994, Sleater-Kinney were an integral part of the feminist riot grrrl scene that grew out of the city in the early-90's. Recorded by John Goodmason, Call The Doctor marked the point that Sleater-Kinney stopped being a side-project and became a full-time band, with Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein leaving their previous bands, Heaven To Betsy and Excuse 17.
This edition, remastered by Creg Calbi, was reissued, along with the band's other first seven albums, by Sub Pop in 2014.
