Neon - Neon / Nazi Schatzi
Continuing their awesome run of issuing long-out-of-print and inspired/inspiring post-punk, new-wave, and no-wave classic (including Y Pants and Kleenex/LiLiPUT), this lost treasure by Swiss punk foursome Neon, recorded in 1978 for an ill-fated television appearance, was never released - nor was anything else by the band. In fact, this two-track 7" consists of the only recorded Neon songs in existence.
The band featured Astrid Spirig (vocals), Dagmar Heinrich (guitar), Loredana Zandonella (bass), and Gitta Gsell (drums). Astrid would later join LiLiPUT, becoming their third singer, and appearing on both LiLiPUT full length LP’s.
Neon practiced for 6 months and wrote 6 songs. They played their first gig on Nov 1st 1978 at the Club Hey in Zurich. In December of that year, a live performance on Swiss television took place for a program about "women in show business.” The band wasn’t happy with the experience and disbanded a few months later only performing a handful of gigs.
