The second instalment of The Last Shall Be First... series focusing on D-Vine Spirituals subsidiary label, JCR Records. This reissue series is packed with incredible Sacred Soul performances from Memphis in the early-70's. 

When paster, disc-jockey, and music-lover Juan D. Shipp founded the D-Vine Spirituals imprint in 1972, it wasn't long before he also rolled out JCR Records, a farm team setup for up-and-coming groups that he felt still needed to climb a few rungs to become, as he put it, "D-Vine material." Many made the jump. but some just made one record and disappeared back into the Mid-South mist from whence they'd sprung. The Last Shall Be First is the beginning of an exciting survey of the impressive D-Vine discography by Memphis, TN's Bible & Tire Recording Co.
