No one pushed the boundaries of dance music quiet like the late Arthur Russell. Perhaps no track does so to such an extreme as “In The Corn Belt”.
Working in his Dinosaur L persona the mix on “Corn Belt” is by another giant of the genre, Larry Levan of Paradise Garage fame. The groove is intensified by layers of shredding guitar, percussion and some instrumentation that sounds otherworldly.
