The ground-breaking and hugely influential label Kill Rock Stars celebrate their thirtieth-anniversary with a special reissue of the first album they put out, itself a landmark compilation documenting a scene that was about to send shock waves around the world.

Released in summer 1991 to coincide with the International Pop Underground Convention taking place in Olympia, Washington, and featuring many of the bands that played the festival, this compilation is a lo-fi snapshot of a musical revolution that would spark the riot grrrl movement, and lay the foundation for the uncompromising DIY-indie-punk scene of the '90s that sprang from the Pacific Northwest.

Including early tracks from Bratmobile, Bikini Kill, Nirvana, Some Velvet Sidewalk, Kicking Giant, Heavens To Betsy, Unwound, and Lois (performing with Pat Maley as Courtney Love), plus Nation Of Ulysses, Melvins, Jad Fair and more, as the liner notes accurately put it, "all of these bands have faith in the future of punk rock and they are, without question, punk rock."

Featuring the original artwork by label-co-founder Tinúviel Sampson, this limited edition reissue features a foil-stamped debossed jacket, reflecting the gold silk-screened original sleeve, and is pressed on clear vinyl.
