The music we love will always pass from one generation to the next, and the influential proto-punk band the New York Dolls have been celebrated by musicians and fans since forming fifty years ago. 

Both The Pastels and Sonic Youth are not only fans, but covered two of New York Dolls' most iconic songs just a few years apart from each other (1987 and 1992 respectively), which have been brought together for the first time on this special split single.
