Khan Jamal Trio - The Traveller

  • £24.99

Khan Jamal emerged out of the hyper-creative Philadelphia jazz scene of the 1970s and '80s. The vibraphonist was the founder of Philadelphia' Sounds Of Liberation ensemble with Byard Lancaster and played with Sunny Murray, Joe Bonner, Billy Band, Charles Tyler to mention a few.

During the '80s, Jamal frequently visited Denmark, where he recorded The Traveller in Copenhagen in 1985 with South African bassist Johnny Dyani and American drummer Leroy Lowe. The album was originally released on SteepleChase Records in 1986.
